As a Public Affairs Specialist (Social Media) (Public Notice Flyer), you will:
Proactively identify great social media storytelling opportunities for EDA and understand how to tailor content to different audiences.
Able to take stock of the big picture and mission of EDA and our work and how social media fits into the overall communications goals.
Design, implement and manage social media strategy and campaigns to align with organization goals.
Develop and manage social media workflow and deadlines to ensure a consistent cadence of social media content in association with public affairs and communications campaigns.
Develop and manage a social media content calendar.
Develop and execute social media engaging content and strategies to promote EDA's programs and events. Coverage to include pre-event, live updates during, and after event/campaign coverage and reporting.
Coordinate and align approach and messaging on all social media platforms.
Provide recommendations for and implement new features or technology platforms to support increased brand awareness.
Utilize social listening tools and platform analytics to report campaign(s) performance at regular intervals.
When needed, provide recommendations to implement any necessary strategy changes to ensure campaign success.
Create short, shareable clips and videos for social media audiences highlighting EDA programs, the organization's impact, and our people in compelling ways.
Work with the in-house designer on social graphics, templates, and campaign materials
Drive new ideas for engaging with our core audiences.
Develop and execute a comprehensive plan for audience growth and engagement.
Define KPIs for social media campaigns and social media program overall.
Monitor social media campaigns and deliver reports, updates, and insights on performance and KPIs to senior leaders.
This Job Opportunity Announcement may be used to fill other Public Affairs Specialist (Social Media) (Public Notice Flyer) GS-1035-12 FPL: 13 positions within the Economic Development Administration in the same geographical location with the same qualifications and specialized experience.

Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the next lower grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This experience need not have been in the federal government.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious; spiritual; community, student, social). To qualify at the GS-12 level:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: You must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience:
With social media aggregator tools
Designing backgrounds.
In basic photo and video editing

Background Investigation: This position is designated as Non-sensitive/Low Risk and requires that a background investigation be conducted and favorably adjudicated in order to establish security eligibility.Please note this position is being filled under the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). Employees will be hired under ARPA's Hiring Authority as a Schedule A employee under the Excepted Service for a period not-to-exceed two (2) years.
